Sorry for lack of stuff this week, out here in Ireland doing my guiding work and things get hectic

Yesterday was our first day’s fishing with our first group of anglers here in Kerry, SW Ireland, and the rest of the week was a bit of a blur with work, getting ready to come out here, travelling here, then getting stuff together for this guiding work. I hope you are all doing well and not melting too badly in the warm weather which you are getting back home………….

And which to be fair we got here yesterday, albeit not as hot as what my wife tells me Cornwall has been like for most of the week. Yesterday was about as calm as you’re going to see it here in Kerry, but our lads had a fair few small bass on surface lures and small paddletails, and we also had a fantastic few hours of chasing wrasse on soft plastics. A couple of the lads mentioned that they had never caught a wrasse before so we made sure to put that right before we had a bit of lunch overlooking the bay in the sunshine. It’s awesome out here.

It’s still dark outside as I am writing this, and in a minute we are going to meet our anglers and get them out bass fishing before it gets really bright. We have a loose plan to head out later on and catch the rest of the flood tide on a pollack mark which is one of my favourite places to fish and/or take anglers. It’s a beautiful spot tucked right out of the way and I seriously doubt it ever gets fished unless John and I are there with our anglers. This is a special part of the world and I still have to pinch myself that I get to come here for part of my work.
